Long-time Detroit sports bloggers and podcasters Greg Eno and Big Al Beaton are The Knee Jerks!
It's the summer of The Knee Jerks, so we're bringing back our favorite guests! It's been far too long since we've had legendary Detroit and New York City broadcaster Bob Page on the show. Bob goes in-depth into the demise of No Filter Sports, the podcast he co-hosted along with Denny McClain and Eli Zaret, gives his unfiltered thoughts on the pandemic era of sports, the awfulness of the current Detroit sports and media scene, and living the good life in Palm Beach.
In the second half of the episode, we discuss what we hope is soon to be a post pandemic world, with the reopening of sporting venues to full capacity, and how sports will irrevocably change after COVID-19, including how games are broadcast and reported upon. The NBA playoffs have given us a plethora of fan jackassery, with a big dash of racism. So one question is also asked - has the pandemic caused fans to lose their god damned minds? We also talk about the Tigers' not all that bad, above .500 May, led by some young, impressive starting pitching. But when are we going to see progression from the position player prospects?
Greg calls out the Green Bay Packers for their complete mishandling of the Aaron Rodgers situation, while Al takes the Braves to the woodshed for not immediately cutting ties with Marcell Ozuna after his arrest for chocking and hitting his wife in front of police!
