The Knee Jerks Podcast - Eno, Nick and Big Al

May 18, 2022

Detroit sports bloggers and podcasters Greg Eno and Big Al Beaton are The Knee Jerks!

This week we welcome back another old friend of the show - Getty photographer Greg Shamus.

Greg has had an adventurous few years while shooting some of the biggest events in sports, including Super Bowl LVI and the 2022 Masters. Greg talks of dealing with the new normal of COVID protocols, shooting in empty stadiums and arenas with smaller crews and limited access. Greg also won The Masters media lottery this year, telling us what it was like to play 18 at legendary Augusta National.

In the second half of the show, The Knee Jerks discuss:

The Detroit Pistons fall to fifth overall in the NBA Draft lottery. The Pistons may have to select, God forbid, a player who spent TWO YEARS in college.

RIP Pistons legend Bob Lanier.

The Detroit Tigers had their first winning streak of the season.

The Tigers' pitching is hanging tough despite injuries and numerous prospect call ups. The team remains desperate for offense, currently being led by the elderly Miguel Cabrera and the surprising Castros, Harold and Willi.

The NFL released next season's schedule to many dramatics, especially from the Detroit Lions' fan base.

The Lions were the only team to not have a scheduled prime time game. Head coach Dan Campbell was the voice of reason, and was thrilled to have a schedule full of 1 PM games even if Lions fans took it as an insult.

The guys also play The Birthday Game and name a Jerk of the Week.
