Before the draft, the Pistons traded Jerami Grant to the Trial
Blazers for a 2025 1st round pick and a $20 salary cap
exemption.
The draft night, 3-team, extremely convoluted trade which led
to the Pistons selecting Jaden Ivey 5th overall, Jalen Duren 13th,
while taking on a $9 million salary dump in Kemba Walker.
On the eve of free agency Weaver took advantage of a Knicks team in
desperate need of salary cap space to sign Jalen Brunson by dealing
for Nerlens Noel, Alec Burks, a pair of future 2nd round picks and
$6 million to go toward buying out Walker and had to send NOTHING
to New York in return.
