The Knee Jerks Podcast - Eno, Nick and Big Al

Mar 23, 2022

Long-time Detroit sports bloggers and podcasters Greg Eno and Big Al Beaton are The Knee Jerks!

This week's topics include:

The QB carousel spun out of control over the past 2 weeks, giving even more credence to the NFL being a QB first, last and always league.

There are 32 NFL teams. There aren't 32 legitimate starting QBs, which leads to desperate teams doing desperate things.

The Cleveland Browns went all in on a sex offender as their starting QB. Trading for Deshaun Watson was a slap in the face to their female fans and employees. And for that matter, anyone with an ounce of decency. Lacking in decency? Browns owner Jimmy Haslam.

The Lions are bringing the band back together, having re-signed almost all of their own free agents. But is retaining the majority of a 3 win roster a good idea?

The lockout is over, there will be baseball. But with several rule changes.

Post lockout, the Tigers added a 5th starter and a setup man to their pitching staff.

In a huge surprise signing, Carlos Correa is headed to the Twins. This raised questions about the Tigers' pre-lockout low ball, multiple opt-out offer to Correa

Turns out Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman didn't have anything up his deadline sleeve. There were no blockbuster deals, just a few small trades to obtain more draft capital.

For the first time in his Red Wings tenure, Yzerman was non-committal in regard to the future of Jeff Blashill, raising red flags.

The guys also play The Birthday Game and name their respective Jerk of the Week.

Programing note: In 2 weeks we welcome Detroit broadcaster Matt Dery to the show. We also have an NFL Draft preview coming up late in April with friend of The Knee Jerks Mike Schottey.
