Long-time Detroit sports bloggers and podcasters Greg Eno and Big
Al Beaton are The Knee Jerks!
We start a new year with one of the oldest friends of the show -
Former Detroit Pistons player and coach Ray Scott. The Coach
reminisces about his 12 year NBA/ABA career and gives his opinions
on dire straits the Pistons now find themselves. When Coach says
its time to change things up, it truly is time to blow up the
roster.
Along with the Birthday Game and Jerk of the Week, topics for the
second half of the show include:
Steve Yzerman makes the rounds to discuss the current state of the
franchise. Really? A GM SPEAKS DURING THE SEASON? What a
concept!
Stevie Y want to be aggressive in obtaining more draft capital, but
admits his current trade pieces aren't playing well.
Lions' GM Bob Quinn made one of his very rare media
appearances, and nothing surprising was revealed. Though
Quinn did make some disingenuous comments about blaming injuries
for a 3 win season and claiming he had to rebuild a 9 win,
borderline playoff, team.
There were scapegoats aplenty, including the resignation of DC
Paul Pasqualoni, and numerous
assistant coaches and the entire strength and conditioning staff
getting the ziggy.
Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa declared
for the draft, giving the Lions several options for either trading
down, taking the best available player or your QB for the
future.
Upcoming guests: Red Wings broadcaster Ken Kal on
01/29/20.
