The Knee Jerks Podcast - Eno, Nick and Big Al

Apr 20, 2022

Detroit sports bloggers and podcasters Greg Eno and Big Al Beaton are The Knee Jerks!

This week we welcome the return of a very old friend of the show - Micheal Schottey, head of content for The 33rd Team, a football think tank featuring contributions from NFL head coaches, GMs, and executives. Mike gives us his thoughts on the upcoming NFL Draft, along with insider info on players and team draft strategies. We plan on having Mike back in a few weeks to get his post-draft thoughts.

In the second half of the show, Greg and Al discuss:

We have a hard time believing Roger Goodell's claim the 2024 NFL Draft will bring $200 Million in revenue to the city.

The City of Detroit (and all of SE MI, for that matter) has an inferiority complex.

The Tigers have been wracked by injuries, their pitching staff taking the brunt.

Despite a rash of injuries to key players, the Tigers have managed to tread water, their record hovering around .500.

Miguel Cabrera is closing in on 3000 hits. Once Miggy reaches the milestone, it would benefit the Tigers to sit him more often and move him further down the order. A DH slugging in the mid-.300s is not optimal.

After an encouraging first half of the season, the Red Wings are spiraling downward over final two months..

Eliminated from playoff contention, Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin  has core muscle surgery and will miss the remainder of the season.

Cade Cunningham won't win the award, but he was named a finalist for NBA Rookie of the Year.

The guys also play The Birthday Game and name their respective Jerk of the Week.
