Long-time Detroit sports bloggers and podcasters Greg Eno and
Big Al Beaton are The Knee Jerks!
It's the end of the year and decade, but not the end of The Knee
Jerks! This special end of the year show features a favorite
returning guest - EMU Eagles head football coach Chris Creighton,
Coach talks about the disappointing ending of the Quick Lane Bowl
and the controversy surrounding QB Mike Glass III's late game
actions. Coach also talks about how he preps for games, his
upcoming recruiting class, and his future at the university.
In the second half of the podcast, the Jerks talk Lions
futility and the Tigers, shockingly, make a couple of solid moves
in free agency. Along with playing the birthday game and naming
Jerks of the Week, topics include:
The Lions will retain the services of Matt Patricia and Bob
Quinn, despite their train wreck 3-12-1 season. This will not end
well.
Does an admittedly soft "win or else" ultimatum from the Fords lead
to questionable short-term decision making by the Lions' front
office?
Shelia Ford Hamp is being groomed to take over the reigns of the
franchise. But her "We're doing what's right for the
organization" statement sounds suspiciously like "Mom is going to
be 95 soon and we don't want to start over again."
The Fords confirm they will not be selling the team anytime soon,
so can we put the "Sell the team!" trope to bed? It's not
happening....at least not in our lifetimes.
Will Patricia's meat puppet/defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni
become a sacrificial lamb?
The Tigers shore up the right side of their infield by signing CJ
Cron and Johnathan Schoop, a pair of big league ballplayers with
legit 20-30 home run power, About God damn time.
Upcoming guests: Former Pistons player and head coach Ray
Scott on 01/12/20, and Red Wings broadcaster Ken Kal on
01/29/20.
